Writing our report on Reptiles and Amphibians – with pictures!

reptiles and amphibians of columbia county oregon st. helens scappoose rainier vernonia clatskanie

We have to apologize for the lack of posts recently. Both Matt and I have been extremely busy, and one of the tasks keeping us busy is putting together the report for the Columbia County Reptiles and Amphibians study that we’ve been working on for nearly five years.

This is your last reminder – if you have any photos of frogs, salamanders, turtles, lizards, or snakes that were taken in Columbia County, send them to us! Message me below, or upload the photos directly to www.inaturalist.org. We want all the data we can get!

For now, let’s enjoy some pictures of the reptiles and amphibians seen in our county. Here are the species that we’ve managed to confirm so far – every photo comes from Columbia County!

Frogs

Salamanders

Turtles

(4 out of 5 of those species are not native here, they are most likely released pets)

Lizards

Snakes

We’re excited about the paper, which is going to have a LOT more specific information on our county’s local reptiles and amphibians than anyone has ever put together before. But we still need your help.

If you have any photos that you haven’t already submitted, please let us know.
