What: camping, riverfront, kayaking
Where: Turn east onto Gable road off of Highway 30 and go 2.5 miles to reach the river. Go left on River St and St. Helens Marina is at the end at 134 N River Street (45.8665, -122.7986). The campground offers free shuttles from the marina.

Hiking: There are a number of short walking trails on the island.
Camping: 63 campsites reserved via Sand Island Campground
Notable Wildlife: osprey, waterfowl, wading birds
Property status: St. Helens Parks & Recreation, but privately managed by Sand Island Campground LLC
