Good question! As of 2018 the camping was $15 a night. You might want to call the Parks office at 503-397-2353 to check and see if that’s still the current cost.

Has anyone ever seen a dipper there? It’s my favorite bird but I guess it’s too busy the in summer for them.

I’m not sure. I’ve seen dippers in several places along Scappoose Creek on the east side of Scappoose-Vernonia Highway, but I can’t remember seeing them on the East Fork Nehalem River over there on the west side where Scaponia Park is.

There were trout there at one point, I’m not sure if there’s still many around or not.
